Parent as Teachers

We want to partner with you to help ease the stress of your parenting journey.

Educational Success Starts with YOU at Home

Our Parents as Teachers Program is FREE for all families to support your child’s growth and development. We serve families from pregnancy until their child is kindergarten eligible. Our Certified Parent Educators partner with families to promote optimal early learning and development as well as health and wellness of all children in our PAT program by supporting families and caregivers.

You can customize our services to meet your family’s needs

FREE Personal Family Visits

Our Parent Educators create personalized visits for each family to find new ways to learn and grow together. We offer 12-24 personal family visits based upon individual family need. Your Parent Educator will provide regular checks on your child’s developmental milestones. They will partner with you as you gain knowledge around your child’s development and learn new parenting practices to support your child’s optimal growth.

FREE Developmental Screenings for all children 3 months to Kindergarten

Annual developmental screenings provide information about each child’s health and developmental progress and increase parents’ understanding of their child’s development. Our Parent Educators and trained developmental screeners identify a child’s strengths and areas of concern. They guide parents to build on those strengths and find the right path to navigate the concerns.

Group Connections

Our group connections offer a variety of opportunities for families. These groups provide time and space for you to connect and play with your child. Families are encouraged to attend our groups where you can connect with other families, form a support network, and share your parenting experiences with other families in the Pattonville community.

Resource Connections

Our Parent Educators provide access to a network of community resources based upon each individual family’s needs.

Project Child Find

Project Child Find is a free referral service and public awareness campaign to assist in the identification of youth ages 3-21 years old who may have a developmental delay due to physical, sensory, emotional, communication, cognitive or social learning differences.

The Pattonville School District provides services for preschool children between the ages of three and five. Preschoolers who demonstrate developmental delays in the one or more of the following areas: fine motor, gross motor, communication, social, emotional or cognitive skills may be eligible for special education and related services, based on an Early Childhood Special Education Diagnostic evaluation.

Parents who have questions about the eligibility for their preschool age child are encouraged to contact the Pattonville Early Childhood office at 314-213-8100
